Man 'tied girl, 13, to a tree then raped her and carved his name into her flesh'
Officers said 50-year-old Timothy Lee Marble tied his victim to a tree before injecting her with drugs and launching a brutal sexual assault
The disturbing case only came to light when the man called police himself to report his victim had escaped his clutches, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office in California said.
Timothy Lee Marble, 50, came across the runaway at a petrol station and offered to help her, the police say.
It is alleged he drove her into the country where they smoked marijuana together.
Marble is accused of making several sexual advances toward the victim before tying her to a tree and sexually assaulting her.
The police claim the victim was stabbed with a syringe and injected with methamphetamine .
Marble pulled out a razor blade and a knife to make small cuts to the victim's legs, and proceeded to carve his name into her skin, they say.
He allegedly assaulted the girl twice more while they were in his truck, according to the police report.
When he finished the brutal assault and started driving towards Bodega Bay, the girl, fearing for her life, jumped from the moving truck.
Marble stopped his vehicle and called out for the girl, allegedly threatening to kill her if she did not answer, before eventually calling the police.
After an investigation, detectives from the sheriff's office arrested Marble, who has a long criminal history, on suspicion of numerous counts of sexual acts with a minor, kidnapping and child abuse.
Police said: "Deputies arrived to the call and, as they were speaking with the caller, the 13-year-old girl came out of the bushes, stumbled up to the deputies."
Sheriff's officials claim the girl said Marble had raped her. He was arrested and she was taken to hospital.
Contacting the girl’s mother, she told them her daughter had run away from her Napa home on Thursday night after the two had an argument.
Marble was booked into the Sonoma County Jail and is being held without bail.
